(MIAMI) -- Pitbull has bought naming rights for FIU Stadium for 5 years at a reported cost of $6 Million dollars.

Armando Christian Pérez, known to many as the music artist Pitbull, has been named official entrepreneur of FlU Athletics.

FIU has a strategic advantage being the only D1 FBS football program in Miami to play in a stadium on their home campus. FIU chooses to interweave the majestic culture of Miami and South Florida with their Panthers football program, emphasizing home-team partnerships, parallel to their notion of keeping many of the nation's most talented players from the nation's most fertile recruiting ground, home in Miami.

A Pitbull anthem will be played at all home games.

The Florida International University football program has gone 4-8 in back-to-back seasons under Head Coach Mike MacIntyre, but the Panthers have shown improvement with talented players coming into their own.

Last year, Panthers quarterback Keyone Jenkins (Miami Central) spearheaded the offense, throwing for 2,400 yards as a true freshman. His main target, Kris Mitchell (Mandarin HS), broke the FIU receiving record with 64 receptions for 1,118 yards.

FIU's first home game is Central Michigan on September 7.

Pitbull has met meteoric success on the music scene, as evidenced by his new name: He's always Mr. 305, but now Mr. Worldwide. Pitbull will always be that talented rapper spitting witty real bars representing the 305 area code as Mr. 305, but Pitbull manifested into one of the world's global pop stars, achieving pop superstardom success worldwide, hence his updated moniker of Mr. Worldwide.

Pitbull won his first Grammy in 2016 as Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album with his album Dale.

Pitbull has also won 9 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
