The 10-3 Miami Hurricanes, after a disappointing one-point bowl loss to Iowa State, fall 3 spots to end the 2024 season ranked #18 in the AP Top 25 College Football Rankings.
The Canes came out blazing, being highly ranked as the #3 team in the country, but a late-season ACC loss to Syracuse doomed dreadful, edging the Canes out of a spot in the newly christened 12-team College Football Playoff.
Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward is projected to be a Top 3 draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Good news for the Canes with the announcement of their transfer portal signing of highly touted former Mandarin State Championship QB Carson Beck, who starred for the Georgia Bulldogs, before an elbow injury sidelined him from leading the Bulldogs into the College Football Playoffs.
The Hurricanes are the only team in the state of Florida to be represented in the final AP College Football Rankings, receiving 411 votes.
The University of Florida did receive 7 votes, making the Gators the 33rd team ranked by receiving votes.
