I was amazed at how far Sparano has taken this Dolphin squad. I guess watching G.I. Joe did help!
I loved the fact that our 2nd year QB Henne made some awesome connections and great completions in the second quarter; he redeemed himself from last weeks Buc’s. He was smooth and his timing was dead on; it was almost perfect! He completed all 7 passes and threw a solid 23 yarder to Tedd Ginn Jr. (Both he and Pennington made safe plays and had no interceptions yesterday.)
Many of our Dolphins had some amazing catches and one heck of an interception; Sean Smith! Camarillo caught a nice pass from Pennington early in the game that resulted in a 17 yard gain. Then a few plays later Bess made a diving catch for 7. I have to say my fav’s from the game was watching Hilliard, though not getting much recognition, had one heck of a game and seemed to be everywhere on the Superdome’s field, while Cobbs got clobbered in one particular play that went no where; good effort, and Smith grabbing that touchback was jaw dropping lucky and awesome all rolled into one. However, watching Pat White take over in the fourth with about 12 minutes left at the Saints 3 yard line made me cringe. I wanted to shut the television off when we got pushed 1/2 the distance to the goal at the 1.5 yard and he was 3 yards deep in the Saints endzone. That was hard to watch considering nothing he handed off or threw went anywhere. I know it’ll take time for him to adjust like it’ s taken Henne time, but hopefully the Chad’s will give him pointers!
But hey Special Teams…where the hack where you on the punt return for a t.d.? That cannot happen in the “real” season!
Great recap, Jill. I was surprised they took them to see GI Joe – didn’t think much of that movie and still haven’t seen it.
